A number of years ago, Amy started collecting Fiestaware. These brightly colored plates, bowls, mugs, cups, and kitchen utensils are a popular collectors item. We love the stability of the dishes and the assortment of colors. It makes setting the table a lot of fun. You can mix and match the plates and bowls for either a uniform look or a rainbow of colors.

Through gifts and sales, we have gathered enough dinner plates, bowls, and salad plates to set the table for our large family. We've even started collected serving bowls and various other pieces for the table and pantry.
For as much as we love the Fiesta products, they come with a pretty hefty price tag. We watch for sales and discounted pieces to add to collection. So when we learned about the Fiesta Tent Sale, we knew someday we had to visit The Homer Laughlin China Company.

Over the years, friends of ours have visited the tent sale and brought us back some great pieces at super incredible prices. But, now since we live so close, we finally decided to go and see the tent sale for ourselves.

The Homer Laughlin China Company calls Newell, West Virginia home. So after the kids come home from school we jumped in the Expedition and made our way to Newell. It was our first tent sale and couldn't wait.
The big question on our minds was, was it really a tent sale?

There's only one way to find out...

As you can see, the tent sale really is a tent sale. It was crazy. Bin upon bin of Fiestaware. And all of it was priced well below its usual cost. We picked through the bins and found some of our favorite pieces, along with some new serving bowls and kitchen utensils. And the prices were pretty amazing.

The evening was a lot of fun as we explored Newell and Chester.
Dinner at Connie's Corners. And a short ride home.
