It Feels Like Spring

Today was a tease, a nasty tease. The weather guys say it hit the mid 60's today. That crazy for the 11th of March. And while mid 60's might be nice, we are already under a winter weather advisory. The forecast is calling for temps in the single digits, snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Yeah! Like I said, today was a tease. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful day.

Today was the kind of day that causes you to look forward to the return of spring. Warmer weather. Fresh new sprouts of life. And the promise of summer fun. But not only did today get me thinking about spring, it also caused me to think about Easter, and the approaching celebration of LIFE.

This will be my third Easter Sunday as pastor at Harvest Church. My second Easter Sunday as we celebrate it as a church on Easter Sunday. (Our first year we celebrated Easter on the Saturday before Easter Sunday.) As I begin to think about our Easter Sunday celebration, I am wondering what God will do.

Easter Sunday is a wonderful time to remember and celebrate the sacrifice, death, and resurrection of Christ. It's also a grand opportunity to share the gospel message to the visitors and extended family. I hope to be able to do both.

Exactly what will our celebration look like? That is yet to be seen. But I am trusting and praying that the Holy Spirit would move in a mighty and powerful way! And for that, I can't wait.
