Starting to become a Jimmy Fallon fan.
I love this version of the Sesame Street theme.
I want to thank all of you who have followed, The Good Husband Blog (TGHB), this past year. I really appreciate support and your readership!
I started TGHB to document my adventure of being a husband. I have an amazing wife. Seriously, she's awesome! And because she is so awesome, I want to be the best husband possible. TGHB has become the place where I share this amazing journey.
But a couple of weeks ago, my awesome wife proved just how awesome she really is. During a difficult time, she became a rock. Her love, unquestionable. Her support, unwavering. Her marriage, stronger then ever. AND, it still getting better.
So here's what's about to happen. I have decided to expand my website to focus on four things. The first is issues of faith. As a pastor, I want to continue to teach and share God's Word through weekly video posts, articles, and eventually a vlog series.
The second area of interest is youth ministry. After 20+ years of working with students, I still love it. While my primary focus at the church is as the lead pastor, I still have a huge heart for students and and for the training up of new youth workers.
The third topic that will be discussed is that of family. With five busy kids, life can be insane! Lately, I have been inspired by some of the online families who share their every day experiences with the world. From Tim & Dana Schmoyer to the Shaytard's to the Catalan's, I love that these families do live and share it. Now I'm not saying the Higham's are starting a family vlog, I do hope to try to share be about life in the Higham house.
The fourth area of focus is the strengthening of marriages. My wife and I have started the research for an exciting new book that we will write together. The emphasis of the book is how to enrich the intimacy of marriage. The Good Husband Blog will be part of this new project. Thus, I am moving The Good Husband Blog to my home site, www.JayHigham.com.
The plan is to post a new article every week around Wednesday. My hope is that you will join us there, and share in the discussion. Along with the blog posts, there will also be resources available, such as my favorite books, links to other websites and blogs, and a place when you can get ideas for how to love your wife better.
All in all, I'm excited about what's coming, so stay tuned!
Sometimes God brings you through a difficult time simply to help you see where you've been messing up in this life. This past year has been one of those difficult times. But God has been faith. His love for me has reminded me of who I am. His grace has shown me that I can always return to him.
God has been working in my life. But not just my life, but my wife's as well. This whole year has been one difficulty after another. It's been hard. We have struggled. We have gone without. We have had to humble ourselves. And we've had to be patient.
But while it may have been hard, what we have discovered is a deeper, richer, stronger, and more intimate relationship. God has strengthened our marriage and the relationship we share as husband and wife. And God has strengthened our relationships with Him. In just a few weeks we hope to share our story of God amazing faithfulness and how he has brought us together in a very special way.
Over the next couple of weeks you will be noticing some significant changes coming to the JayHigham.com site. Not only will you see changes here, but you will also see some changes with the JayHigham.com blog. We are starting the process of retooling both the blog and the site for a new project that my wife, Amy, and I will be working on. We are really excited about what God has been doing in our lives and in our marriage. So excited, we want to share it with the world.
So stay tuned as we prepare for a new adventure. And please bear with us as we redesign the blog and this site!
