Vacation Week Begins

Where the kids start talking about vacation months before you actual leave, you know that they are excited. Now, we've taken plenty of vacations. Some have been short, just a couple of days, and some have been longer, a week or more. But for some reason these year, we have really looked forward to our time away as a family.

It's been quite a year for the Higham family.We've had our highs and our low. I think each of us have had a moments for difficulty. But God has been so faithful. This week away has finally come and we are so looking forward to the time away.

Where are we heading? The beach, of course. There are two places we love; the mountains and the beach. And since we live more in the mountains, the beach is where we head for some time away. Amy spent years vacationing with her family in Ocean City, MD. Jay and his family spent a couple of years visiting North Wildwood, NJ before making the switch to camping in the Lancaster County area of Pennsylvania. After they married, Amy and Jay spent the early years of their marriage vacationing in OC, MD. As we've added kids, the OC has been a home away from home.

This Friday, we started making our way to the sandy shores of the east coast. Like I said, we have been looking forward to this week for months. And now to finally it's time. We've decided to share this time with you for 2 reasons. 1. We love sharing our adventures with you here on the blog and the vlog. It's fun for us and we love vlogging. 2. It's our ongoing mission to be able to encourage families. Vacations can be a bit chaotic for families. We might set out with the perfect vacation in mind, but it only takes one little incident to pop that dream of perfect. We're here to say, "It's okay." We all have those moments, but they don't have to ruin the fun.

So as you come along with us, know that it won't be perfect. But it doesn't have to be. Instead we're going to live with grace, love, and forgiveness, trusting that God will be at work in and through all of us. And whatever happens, happens.
