![]() John 17:20-36 Jesus Prays for All Believers 20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” Jesus prayed for you. Before he was arrested, with his disciples, as he made his way to the garden, he prayed for you. He took the time. Stopped what he was doing. And he prayed. For you. Yes. YOU! What did he pray for? He prayed that you would believe in him and his message. He prayed that as believers you would be one with the other believers, as the Father and Son are one. He prayed that you might be a witness of his message to this world so the world would see, know and believe. He prayed that you would be fully devoted to the Father so the world would know of the love of the Father. He prayed that you would be with him, that you would see his glory; the glory given to him by the Father’s love. He prayed that you might know his love and that that love would dominate your life so that all the world would believe in him. Jesus prayed for you. Before his death, he prayed for you. Before he surrendered his life out of love for you, he thought of YOU, prayed for YOU, loved YOU. Then he died. For YOU. You. Do you know? Do you believe? Does his love fill you? Does he dwell within you? Does the world see him in you? You? Don’t let another minute pass. Jesus prayed that you might know. Know that he loves you, right now. As you are. He prayed that you would surrender your life for his sake. To live for HIM. To love like HIM. To serve like HIM. To be like HIM. Come and know HIM. - jay PS - Was this post helpful, insightful, encouraging, or thought provoking? Great! I'd love to hear from you!
