It's just about here, the last day of school!
It has been a crazy year. Online learning. In person classes. Quarantines. Covid tests. Delays. Cancelations. Shorten sports seasons. Masks. Social distancing. Daily health check apps. The list goes on and on. No doubt the 2020-2021 school will be one to remember... Or, maybe we'll just try to forget it. Nevertheless, the school year is just about over. We here in the Higham house have about a week left for two of our kids, while our number three son, graduates high school on June 6th! (That's now three of our five who are done high school. Crazy.) As we begin to countdown these final days, it's got me thinking, what are we going to do to celebrate the end of the 2020-2021 school year? If you have been following our Life in the Higham House family vlog, you might remember our posts from the last couple years. Our tradition has been to welcome the kids with a barrage of water balloons, squirt guns, silly string, and confetti! It's super messy, but a lot of fun! Last year, 2019-2020, Covid-19 kept us from having a year end celebration because schools shut down in-person classes and moved everyone to remote learning. It was a trying time for schools, students, and parents. With the kids already at home, it felt like summer break started a little early. And while we didn't catch the last day of school on video, we still celebrated with dinner and some fun. But with just a few days left, we gearing up for our final day of the 2020-2021 school! So here's our questions for you. What have you done to celebrate the last day of the school year with your kids? Water balloons and silly string? Do you go out for lunch or dinner? Do you plan special trip? We'd love to hear about your last day of school traditions! Then, are you planning a last day of school celebration for this year, and what are you planning to do? We are planning to celebrate the last day of school, and while I still thinking about what we'll do, I'm sure there will be water balloons, silly string, confetti, and squirt guns! After all, with a year like this past year, I think the last day of school is worth a pretty good celebration! Go ahead and share your "end of year" traditions! We'd love to hear what you do as a family! And watch for the vlog post of our last day coming next week! - the higham family
