Show HOPE

For a long time now, adoption has been a topic frequently mentioned in the Higham house. I can't remember exactly when I felt the tug on my heart to consider adoption, but I know it isn't going away. I am about 80% sure that adoption might be in the future.

On Wednesday evening, Amy and I made our way to Plum, PA, for The Glorious Unfolding Tour, with Steven Curtis Chapman, The Afters, and Josh Wilson. Steven Curtis Chapman has become one of our all-time favorite artists. Many of his songs provide the soundtrack for our lives.

But beyond his music, there has been a certain attachment to the Chapman family. In many ways, Amy and I feel like we are very similar. While reading MaryBeth's book, Choosing to SEE, I said that we should become friends with the Chapman's, because we'd get along so well.

10 years ago, the Chapman's started a ministry called, Show HOPE, an organization dedicated to addressing the needs of orphans by providing support to families considering adoption and in caring for orphans by running care centers. Adoption is a big thing for Steven and his family, so it was no surprise that he spoke often and passionately about adoption, Show HOPE and the need for us as believers to respond this needs of orphans.

I LOVE what Steven and MaryBeth Chapman are doing. More so, I LOVE what Show HOPE is doing. Show HOPE is an incredible organization committed to finding forever-homes for orphans around the world. Tonight, Amy and I decided that it was time for us to stop talking about adoption and to start doing something towards adoption. So tonight we became sponsors. But before I tell you about the sponsor ship, take a few minutes to watch this video.
Sponsorship is easy. $35 a month. Just a little over a $1 a day provides for the daily needs of orphans while also supporting forever-families waiting to welcome their chosen child home.

About a year ago, I was sharing the work of Show HOPE for on the blog, highlight their ministry and monthly videos and updates. In the weeks to come, I will be renewing that desire to share the work of Show Hope through new updates and posts promoting Show HOPE and their work. As a sponsor, I want to encourage you to consider becoming a sponsor with us. A new page dedicated to Show HOPE will go live next week with videos, information about Show HOPE and adoptions, and links to resources, websites, organizations, and tools that might be helpful to you as you think about caring for orphans.

So stay tuned.
