It's that time of the year again...
We're packing shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse's, Operation Christmas Child!
It's been part of our Christmas celebration for 19 years. Operation Christmas Child is one of our most favorite Christmas tradition. We shop, pack, and send our shoeboxes before we do any other Christmas shopping. It's an activity that our kids look forward to every Christmas.
Amy started the shoebox tradition when our oldest was still an infant. It was her MOPS group that introduced us to the project and we have done it every year since then.f
If you've never packed a shoebox, it's super simple.
Go to: www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/ Explore the page and learn about Operation Christmas Child. Pick up a shoebox. Visit your favorite store and pick up items like toys, balls, toiletries, books, crayons, and coloring books. Pack up the shoebox. Label it. Drop it off at your local drop off center.
The kids have enjoyed writing letters to the receivers of the boxes.
This year, Asher wrote a letter inside one of the notebooks.
The boxes are just about ready. The kids did a great job.
In total, we will be sending three boxes.
We love Operation Christmas Child.
It's a great way to remind your children about generosity and giving. We talk more about why we do Operation Christmas Child on this weeks episode of Kids Talk, Packing Boxes! You can watch the episode by clicking below.
