Hello 2019! As we entered the new year, we decided to go dark for a couple of weeks. No blogs, no vlogs, no Facebooking, minimal Instagram, and minimal tweeting. As a family, we wanted to start the year focused on us and not on our online presence. So, we went dark. And it was good. It was good for us to spend some time as a family without worrying about having the camera rolling or posing for pictures. Unfortunately, you missed some pretty hilarious moments with the kids. So what have we been doing these last two weeks? Great question, let me share a little with you. As you know, we welcomed the new year while visiting family in Philadelphia. Our last vlog of 2018 and first vlog of 2019 was us visiting downtown Philly's Reading Terminal Market, Macy's, and China Town. Then we celebrated the new year with sparklers, noise makers, and a whole lot of rain. The next day, New Year's Day, we said goodbye to the family and made the long drive home. Watch the vlog here: New Year's Eve 2018. The kids still had a few days of break, unfortunately, both Amy and Jay had to get back to work. So not much happened during those early days of 2019. Jay preached at church on Sunday, January 6, and we got ready for the kids to return to school. We welcomed the new year while visiting family in Philadelphia. We don't know all that 2019 will bring us, but we are excited and ready for the journey and the chance to share it all with you!The Christmas break was great. We enjoyed time with the kids, visits to both sets of parents, and made some good memories. 2018 was a great year. We vlogged more than we've ever vlogged, shared some great posts here on the blog, and enjoyed some some wonderful, intentional time with our family. Looking back we have plenty to be thankful for. But here we are, two weeks into the new year and we're excited about what might come. As a family, we're going to continue to look for intentional ways to make the most of our time together. We want to take more trips, exploring local and not-so-local attractions and locations. We want to share more of what God is teaching us as parents and as a couple. We want to vlog on a more regular schedule, sharing our adventures and family fun. And we want to enjoy our kids by creating more fun moments and family activities. We don't know all that 2019 will bring us, but we are excited and ready for the journey and the chance to share it all with you! So, Hello, 2019!
