It's official, there is another adult living in the Higham house. Logan has turned 18! This past Saturday, we celebrated Logan's 18th birthday. Yes, 18!! I know, it's ridiculous. 18 years old. He's an adult now. He can vote, go off to war, buy a lottery ticket, and order things other phone. (He thinks that's so funny.) Seriously, it's another milestone for Logan and Amy and I. 18 years ago, we were in the hospital waiting his arrival. I'll never forget that night. We were so excited. So young. So ready for life. And then there was a little baby boy. He was perfect. Everything was textbook. The pregnancy. The labor and delivery. All of it just as it should be. 18 years later and he we are. As we reflect back over the 18 years, there has been so much that has changed. From the moves and new jobs, variety of houses and locations, friends who have come and gone, the highs and the lows, Logan has walked each step with great integrity. Amy shared these words on her Facebook page.. "18 years ago today this young man came into the world making us a mom and dad for the first time. What a joy it has been to be his parents! He has learned to take whatever life throws his way and run to Jesus. He knows what he wants from life and is chasing after it. He's honest and full of integrity, funny, and faithful, creative and caring. We are so thankful for how he's changed our lives forever and couldn't be more pleased with the man God is shaping him to be. Happy 18th Birthday Logan Higham! We love you more than you can dream! ❤️" Perfectly said. It's weird to think that we've reached this point; looking a colleges, talking about careers, dreaming about what could be... It's excited, and yet, sad. Our lives are changing. Life in the Higham House is changing. And while we look forward to the great things God has for Logan, and all of our kids, these days are bittersweet. No doubt tomorrow will bring another new adventure. For Logan, his adventure is taking him closer and closer towards God, and for that we are truly thankful. - the higham family
