![]() Yesterday after work I met for the first time, my new primary physician. Why? Because I was due for my almost annual physical. When in Somerset, I was more regular with my doctor well visits because I was with the fire department, and yearly physicals were required. But since we moved, well, if it's not broken, don't fix it. And since I've been in pretty good health, well... You get the point. Nonetheless it was time to visit the doctor and get caught up on the whole health thing. And since we are 'new' to the area, it was about time to meet our doctor. So much to my chagrin, Wednesday afternoon I made the trip to the doctors office. I used to love going to the doctors as a kid. The dentist...HATED IT!!!!! But the doctor...no problem. Oh, I need a shot? No worries. Really. I didn't mind it a bit. Probably because when you're a kid, for the most part you're healthy. Well, yeah, there are those times when the 'cold' hits you and your off to see the doc. But for the most part, you're healthy. However, as I've gotten older, I find myself a little more anxious then what I used to be. But all the anxiety and stress was for not. While I wouldn't say I am the picture of perfect health, it was good to hear that I'm in good health. The biggest need I have is to lose some weight, clean up my eating habits, and get a little more exercise. All stuff I know I need to do. So it looks like I'll be making a few life style changes here in the coming weeks. A little more exercise. A few less sodas. More water. More salads. Less sugars. And wiser portions. And hopefully, with a little work, there will be a little less of me. Then perhaps, there will be a little less stress at my 6 month follow up. - jay PS - Was this post helpful, insightful, encouraging, or thought provoking? Great! I'd love to hear from you!
