Merry Christmas in July! It's July 25th, Christmas in July. We are just 5 months away gathering with our families, ripping open presents, enjoying wonderful foods, and celebrating all that makes Christmas special. In today's post we're remembering Christmases past. Let's take a look at some of our Life in the Higham House Christmas Specials!

There's nothing like waking up on Christmas morning. The joy and excitement, the anticipation and expectation; the laughter, surprise, and wonder, it's amazing! We love our Christmas morning traditions. We read the Christmas story from Luke 2. We open gifts. We enjoy our Christmas brunch. And, we build LEGOs. It is a day that we look forward to every year. Our hope is that this will be our tradition for a few more years.

Christmas Special 2016

This year, Christmas fell on a Sunday, and Jay was preaching, so Christmas had to wait until after Sunday services. This was our second year to vlog Christmas as a family. All the kids were still living at home. It was such a fun day. Enjoy!

Christmas Special 2019

2019 was a year of transition. Jay had accepted a new ministry role at a church in West Virginia. The job began June 1st, but we had a hard time finding a house so we weren't able to move until October. Because of the new job and the transition, we didn't vlog very much, but we wanted to capture Christmas morning. Let's go!

Christmas Special 2020
​A Covid Christmas

2020 was a Covid Christmas. While things were open and life was slowly returning to normal. That Christmas we had Christmas Eve services online, which gave us an entire day to be together, which meant, some Christmas Eve traditions looked a little different. But all the kids were home and we had such a sweet time. And, it snowed! We had a Winter Christmas! We couldn't have asked for very much more. Enjoy Christmas 2020.

Last Christmas we stepped into some new traditions. As our kids become adults and begin their own lives and families, we're learning how to make space for spouses, grandkids, careers and work schedules. It's actually pretty exciting. While we don't know what the future holds, we're looking forward to Christmas 2024.

Will we return with another year of the Life in the Higham House Christmas Special? Yes, yes we will. And we can't wait!
