* THIS POST CONTAINS PRODUCT AND AFFILIATE LINKS. *  It's been a minute. Actually it's been almost two months. Our last post was January 11th, and as I type this, it's February 21st. Much as happened in these last six weeks. From birthday's to back to school to lots and lots of snow, here's a quick update from Life in the Higham House. We started the new year with hope; a hope that rests in who we know God to be. And so far, that hope has sustained us in this new year. But so much more has been happening. January allowed us to celebrate two birthdays; Asher who turned 15 and Aiden who turned 18. Asher turned 15, 15! The first thing we did was visit the DMV for his driver license permit test, which he passed! Then he enjoyed the rest of the day with class, his birthday dinner, and ice cream cake. Aiden turned 18, leaving us with three adult children. 18 is a huge milestone and we are so proud of was Aiden is accomplishing both in school and with his photography.  Just hanging out at home! Covid has kept us home for most of the months of January and February. Aside from our bi-weekly shopping trips, date nights or occasional family dinner, we have enjoyed our time as a family watching movies, playing games, and building puzzles. The snow has also helped to make our time at home a little more enjoyable. We love the snow. February has been an especially snowy month. We still have a couple inches around the house with some more snow in the forecast for this week.  Amy took this picture while out for a walk. Breya is back to her horseback riding lessons, and Asher is finally going to have a basketball season! We'll be sharing some video of these activities soon. Aiden is working on his photography. He has found a printer and is almost ready to share some of his amazing photos. Hopeful by March, those who are interested will be able to purchase prints.  This is one of Aiden's photos that will be available for purchase soon! Nate is still working on creating a name for himself with his custom painted shoes. He works really hard to make each pair unique and special. He is so talented. It's amazing to see what he can do with some paint and a pair of shoe.
Logan is doing well at school and with his new job. A couple of weeks ago, Logan announced that he was starting a new full-time sales job with a national furnisher company. With only a few weeks in, he is doing great! We had the chance to volunteer again this year with Tim Tebow's, Night to Shine. Because of ongoing Covid-19 precautions, this year's Night to Shine was a virtual event. Instead of meeting in person, participants were able to join with thousands of other students from all around the area and across the nation. Participants were able to pick up a some pre-event items the weekend prior to dance. It was really great.  Amy had a chance to visit with Logan while she was in Florida for a girls weekend with some of her small group ladies. Ministry along with some house projects have kept Amy and Jay busy. Amy's work with YoungLife Capernaum has been so exciting! It is so much fun to be with her students each month on Zoom. And Jay is slowly getting back to in-person ministry with his students at C3. When we're not with our students or leaders, we're working on a number of projects around the house. We'll be sharing a few of those projects in our new DIY section of the website! Watch for those posts coming this spring and summer!  We were given the chance to encourage attendees as they picked up items for their Night to Shine. It's been a busy start to 2021. The kids are back to school. Ministry is happening. Sports and activities are coming back. In the weeks to come, we're going to get back to blogging and a little vlogging. There are some exciting things happening at our church that we're going to share. And, our t-shirt shop is opening again! There you will find the In A Word tees, our Easter tees, and a few new tees coming this spring! And, while we love the snow, we are looking forward to the warmer weather and the chance to again travel around and visit some of the amazing sites and locations that surround us. Pictures, stories, vlogs, and more coming soon! 2021 is still just beginning, and we are going to continue to cling to the hope that we know and have through Jesus Christ!
