Go for a Walk with Your Wife

It's one of the most beautiful times of the year, Autumn. If you live in a state that experiences the vibrant change of colors, you have an opportunity to love on your wife in a very simple, yet romantic, way! Take her for a walk through the Autumn trees!

There's nothing more romantic than spending quality time with your wife, except for when you spend that time hand-in-hand, walking through the autumn woods.

A lot of communities now have walking trails in our very near them. Chances are there's one not far from you. And depending on how your local climate lends itself to the changing of season, the next couple weekends might be a great time for you to treat your wife to some one-on-one time.

Let's plan this out.

1. Locate A Local Trail

Check with your community's website and look for information to local parks or walking trails. Remember, you want a place that has a pathway suitable for walking with an abundance of trees. Gather whatever information you might need; parking details, directions, and any restrictions or guidelines.

2. Make Space in Your Weekend Calendar

Make space on your weekend calendar for your time of exploration with your wife. If it helps to set it as an appointment in your planner, than do it.

3. Ask Your Wife on a Date

You don't have to tell her where you're going or what you're doing, just give her the time for your date and maybe a little help with how she should dress. You don't want the time ruined with her not appropriately dressed, so check the weather and be prepared.

4. Cell Phones

This is one-on-one time, not one-on-one and a cell phone, so leave it behind. You want to be able to give her your full attention as you walk and talk together.

5. Be Ready to Engage with Her

Don't be Silent Sam, you want to engage your wife so be ready to talk with her. If it helps, think about a few questions in advance. No yes or no questions, you want good questions; the kind that force her to talk and elaborate. And be sure to listen!!

6. Make Contact

Nothing expresses tenderness and love more than your touch. Be sure to hold hands as you walk. Walk closely to her, rubbing arms and shoulders. If you stop to admire the view, take a minute to admire her. Hold her close and let her feel you against her. Your touch doesn't have to be sexual to communicate to her how much you love her, simply holding her hand can speak volumes.

BONUS...

If you really want to woo her, think about having lunch together, or stopping by a cafe for some coffee, or even grabbing some ice cream if it's not too cold. This will extend your time together and allow for you both to sit and be with one another.
Enjoy your time this weekend with your wife. Celebrate God's creative artistry. And take advantage of the Autumn season to romance and love on your wife. Learning to recognize special moments like these help us become good husbands!
