Getting Ready for the Fall

Hello September!

It's just about here, Fall. We love the Fall. The changing of the leaves, the cooler temperatures, the smells and sounds. We love flannels and sweatshirts, backyard campfires and roasting marshmallows, hot chocolate and apple cider, pumpkins and gourds. And we love to decorate for the Fall!

Last week we started going through our Fall decorations, getting organized and ready to decorate. We have a lot of pieces that we have had for a number of years, but we are also adding a some items to our collection.

Every year we do things a little different; rearranging items and collections, creating new scenes and arrangements. With everything unpacked, we've started placing items together to see how they look. We will keep moving things around until we finally get the look we want.

So far, the only location that we are done decorating is the mantle over the fire place. We will talk specifically about the mantle and the items we have chosen for the mantle in a post next week.

So consider this the "BEFORE" post. We still have some decorating to do in the entryway, on the front porch, on the back porch, and the kitchen.

In about another week or so, we are hoping to have everything done and ready to show. And like the mantle, we'll break everything down, sharing our favorite Fall items and where we picked them up.

The front porch is always one of our favorite places to decorate. It's the first thing our friends and family see when they come over, so we usually go all out to make it some special. The pictures above are just the beginning.
