Okay, parents, here's a question for you, Do YOU dress up for Halloween?

Our guess is that some of you do. But as we being think about our time of neighborhood trick-or-treating, we're wondering how many husbands and wives, mom's and dads get dressed up for Halloween?

Over the years we have worn our fair share of costumes, mostly for our student ministry or kids ministry costume parties or something similar. But we can't remember a time when we have ever dressed up for work or for trick-or-treating with the kids. But it seems that more and more parents are dressing in costumes for the festivities of the season. So we want to know.

Do you dress up for Halloween?

As we've said, over the years we've worn a costume or two for various student and kid ministry event, but dressing up for Halloween hasn't been a regular practice. In fact, over the years, we've wrestled with the topic of Halloween. One year, we skipped the whole trick-or-treating thing all together and went to a friends house to have dinner, watch a movie, and eat candy. However the next year, we were going door to door in our neighbor collecting candy.

We think our kids were just as confused as we were. But as the years went on we decided to see Halloween as an opportunity to be in with our neighbors. We shared about that decision in this post, It's Almost Here...Again.

What we are curious to know is, do you dress up for Halloween?

If you do dress up, why?

Do you coordinate with your family/wife, or do you go rogue?

Are you planning on dressing up this year? If so, who or what are you dressing up to be this year?

Mummy Dogs Recipe

With the spooky season of Halloween upon us, we're sharing one of our favorite Halloween recipe. Mummy Dogs. Super easy to make and yummy to eat, Mummy Dogs are a recipe you can make with your kids. Breya and Jay recorded a Kids Talk, a number of years ago, demonstrating how to make Mummy Dogs for dinner.

Take a few minutes to watch the video. Then, grab your kids, some hot dogs, crescent roll dough, and get to cooking!

Mummy Dogs are so easy, and fun to make! Here is a list of the ingredients.

Ingredients:

Package of Hot Dogs
Crescent Rolls
Non-Stick Cooking Spray
A Cookie Sheet
A Cutting Board
A Pizza Cutter

Follow these step-by-step instructions for making your Mummy Dogs!

Simple Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 375˚.
Open the crescent rolls and unroll the pastry onto the cutting board. If you want, pinch the crescent pastry together where they are pre-cut. Using the pizza cutter, cut the pastry into thin strips that you will wrap around the uncooked hot dog.
Spray your cookie sheet with the non-stick cooking spray to prevent the pastry from sticking to the pan.
Once you're done wrapping your hot dogs place them on the cookie sheet. Place the cookie sheet in the oven to cook. It should take about 15 minutes for the mummy dogs to bake.
Check on the dogs every couple of minutes. You want the pastry to be a warm, golden brown.
