The garden season is finally coming to an end. It's been another great season of learning, growing, and harvesting some delicious vegetables. So let's take a minute and look at our 2022 garden season!
It all started with this years selection of seeds. Last summer, we planted a few too many vegetable varieties, veggies that we enjoyed, but didn't know how to can or save. So this summer, we decided to plant vegetables that we could can and save. On the list, pickles, cucumbers, a selection of tomatoes, two varieties of peppers, and pumpkins (not pictured).
We also planted cauliflower, green beans, and zucchini that we picked up at a local nursery, along with some herbs.
I love starting our plants from seeds. It's a bit more time consuming than just running to the local nursery or home box store and picking up plants. It's taken me a couple of years to really figure out the best way to start and keep the seeds growing, but I think I've finally got a bit a process down.
I start with Jiffy's 72 pod, Professional Greenhouse kits. This kits have proven most effective for me. I usually see seeds sprouting within a week or so.
After a couple of weeks, when the sprouts are starting to produce their first leaves, I transplant the sprouts in plastic containers. We've saved a pretty good number of plastic planting containers, which work perfect for our sprouts. From the planters, I move the healthy plants into the ground.
Shop our Thanksgiving Tees!
Once in the ground, it's pruning and patience. Some of the tomato plants go into the ground and some go into buckets. Both produce plenty of fruit for us, plus the buckets allow me to move plants around if I need or want.
I like to grow my pickles and cucumbers vine vertically. It makes it easier to care for and pick the vegetables, and it keeps the cucumbers and pickles off the ground and out of reach of critters.
Here is just a few of this seasons tomatoes, pickles, and green beans. But we also managed to grow a few zucchini, cucumbers, a pumpkin, and some potatoes.
All said and done, it was a great garden season. I've put most of the supplies away for the year. In another week or so, I'll pull the remaining plants and till up the ground for the winter. And before you know, we'll be planting again! Till then, we're going to enjoy the delicious harvest from the garden!

We'll admit it, we watch the Hallmark Christmas movies. We do. And we've been watching them for a couple of years now. And you know what, we're okay watching them.
It started as a joke. We watched a movie because everyone made fun of the similarities of the stories, the sets, even the actors. And yes, we noticed those things. We laughed and had fun with it, but then something unexpected happened. We started liking the movies. Then Covid hit. Like many others during the Covid shut downs, we binge-watched a number of TV shows, movies, movie sagas, and docu-dramas. But when the Christmas rolled around, we "binged" every Christmas movie Hallmark put out.
3. The Warm Fuzzies - Come on, let's be honest, everyone enjoys the warm fuzzies. You know, the feeling you get when watching a movie that just makes you feel good. Christmas is all about the warm fuzzies. And nobody does the warm fuzzies like Hallmark.
At this point, we have watched countless Hallmark Christmas movies, and each one has left us with that feel-good, warmth of family, home, and holiday. In fact, I think that's why Christmas movies are so beloved. They remind us of what the holidays bring. Things like faith, joy, hope, the memories of Christmas's past, and the hope of Christmas's to come. Visit the Shirt Shop for our
