This is not a sponsored blog post. While we talk about our local Aldi's, we received nothing from the company. We purchased the items mentioned below. We've be wanting to make homemade flatbread pizzas for a couple of weeks. We even purchased the flatbreads recently, however, the flatbread went bad before we could use it. So we picked up a package of fresh Naan flatbread, and set our menu to make pizza this past Monday evening. Breya and Jay jumped into the kitchen Monday evening, to put together and bake 4 yummy flatbread pizzas for dinner. Cheese, Pepperoni and Cheese, Buffalo Chicken, and a fresh Mozzarella and Prosciutto with Sun Dried Tomatoes and Spinach.
The BuildAs you get started, preheat your oven. We set our oven to 450˚. Build your pizzas using your topping to your liking. Flatbread, pizza sauce, cheese, meat or vegetable, whatever you like. On our Buffalo Chicken pizza, we melted some butter and minced a garlic clove. We mixed it together and brushed it onto the flatbread. Then we laid down some cheese, the chicken, seasoning, and more cheese. With the oven heated and the pizzas ready, we set our timers to 7 - 10 minutes and watched them bake. As soon as the timer went off, we set the pizzas aside to cool. We cut them up and served them on our new fiesta plates! Dinner was delicious! The kids loved the pizzas. And, the mozzarella and prosciutto was great. We think its the first time we've had prosciutto. So good. Thanks Aldi'sWe love shopping Aldi's. We have found Aldi's to offer great products at incredibly amazing prices. We have been shopping at Aldi's for a couple of years, and it has helped us feed our family and stay on budget. Their selection of foods and ingredients is great. We've even found their produce to be fresh and affordable. With the exception of the sun-dried tomatoes, everything we used to make the flatbread pizzas was purchased at our local Aldi's. Delicious and affordable. If you haven't shopped your local Aldi's, we would recommend you do so. Have you made flatbread pizzas? Tell us about them! What are your favorite toppings? Share your recipes below in the comments! This weekend we decided to meet up with our friend (and former student) and check out a local festival! It's the Houston Pumpkin Festival! Vendors, food, entertainment, and more! It was cold, but it was fun!

This weekend, our community hosted it's annual fall festival. Vendors from all over come to sell their crafts, artwork, and baked goods. Amy and Breya met a vendor who made dog treats. They picked up a doggy cupcake for Toby. We think he liked it.

Our kids are growing up too fast. Logan and Nate are both in college. Aiden is in high school. Asher is in junior high. And, Breya? Well, Breya is 9 going on 16. Actually, she's 9 going on 10, as she will celebrate her birthday a little later this month.
This weekend we were going through our YouTube channel (Life in the Higham House) looking at some old vlogs posted a couple years ago. It's fun to see how the kids have grown and changed over the last couple of years. One of the most changes comes as we watch one of our very first vlogging attempts. When Breya was 3 years old, we recorded, Breya's Kitchen, a short video where Breya demonstrates how to make a sliced egg sandwich, or a egg-sliced sandwich, as she calls it. It was crazy to watch this video. Breya has grown so much.
Here's the video we made with Breya when she was 3 years old. Breya's Kitchen, episode one - Egg Slides Sandwich. Enjoy.
