Our Essential Oils Unboxing

9/9/2016

We are so excited! Our first large order of Young Living Essential Oils has arrived. In August, we committed to a 30 day challenge of using essential oils. By the end of the month we were amazed at how much better we felt after using the oils. From headache and allergy relief to just feeling less stressed and overwhelmed by life. There is no doubt in our minds, essential oils offer big benefits when used regularly and correctly.

The hardest part about using essential oils is waiting for your oils to arrive. Still being new at all of this, we ran out of some our favorite and most used oils. This left us with about 2 weeks of waiting. And 2 weeks of not being able to use our regular oils. 2 weeks, and we definitely noticed they absence.

Last week we met with our team leaders, Kendra P., who walked us through some of the ins' and out's of being a Young Living Essential Oils Distributor. It was a super valuable time of learning. And while we still have a few things to learn, we are super excited to be able to offer families an opportunity to not only live a healthier lifestyle, but also create a way to provide for their families while doing so.

But before we get into all of that, we are so excited to share with you our first Essential Oils Unboxing!

What's an Unboxing? Well, it's opening a package or box of a new item or product. If you were to look up unboxing on YouTube, you'd find various YouTubers opening all sorts of products and talking about whatever it is they are unboxing.

This is pretty much what we did. Our order arrived on Friday afternoon, and because we were so excited to get our new oils, we decided to do our own unboxing video. So please take just a few minutes as we open up our order and talk about some of the products that have just arrived.

Click on the button just below if the video does not appear.

So here is what we are planning to do. Each week, we want to share a different essential oil and how we use it. Some weeks it might be in video form or it might be as a blog post. We also want to share with you excited product promotions and ways you can get more for less. The other opportunity we will be sharing is a how you can become a Young Living member. Membership comes with a wholesale product pricing and benefits that make using essential oils more affordable.

We have found that using essential oils has been a real help. More of a life style choice and less like a magic pill, essential oils are teaching us how to become less dependent on conventional medicine and therapies, and helping us to remove the chemicals and toxins that we believe have been polluting and negatively effect us for years.

So be sure to follow along as we continue this journey into the world of essential oils. There is so much to learn and share, and we can't wait to tell you how they are helping our family! Visit our Essential Oils page to learn more about our journey!

Social Media has become an amazing way for friends and family to stay connected. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, and on and on the list goes. We share family photos, wish friends happy birthday, and watch as our nieces and nephews grow. It's how most of us communicate and stay connected!
Picture
Today we want to share with you our updated social media network! Over the last couple of months, we have been working to reconstruct our social media connections. Up until this weekend, Amy and Jay have been using their personal networks to share and promote The Higham Family blog, vlog, and ministry happenings. Over the summer we have been researching and learning how to improve and grow the blog and the vlog as a ministry to families. One of the things we have been encouraged to do is create a social media strategy and develop new connections that reflect our family ministry.

So we are excited to introduce to you, another way to stay connected with the Higham's! Along with our personal connections, we are thrilled to roll out our brand new Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Pinterest pages!

Below is a complete list of our social media connects! We hope to connect with you soon!

Noah, A Wordless Book - Book Review

9/1/2016

It's fun when you come across a children's book with a great story. You know the kind, one that makes sense and actually has a story that you enjoy reading over and over again. But what do you do when the story is told through pictures? No words. Just pictures.

Well if it's Mark Ludy's, latest book Noah, A Wordless Picture Book, you will order it, and read it again and again and again!

Okay, so you don't actually read a 'wordless' picture book. I mean, there's no words, so you really can't read it. But this book is one that you will be drawn to for more than a story. Noah, A Wordless Picture Book, is an incredible telling of the Biblical account of Noah and the Ark through pictures. Noah is one of my most favorite stories from the Bible, so when I was given the opportunity to review this book I jumped on it!

One look at the cover and you think, wow. But when you open the book, you will be amazed.

The illustrations are breath taking. Page after page, filled with immense color and detail. I have looked at this book about a dozen times and I still don't think I've seen everything drawn into each scene.

When it comes to stories taken from the Bible, I get a little nit-picky about the story. But I love that Mark has created a world that takes you back to the days of Noah with careful illustrations that keep to the Biblical account and yet allows room for you to wonder and imagine.

As a father of 5, I like that I can tell my kids the story of Noah while partnering it with the pages of Mark's book. Together you can sit and look at each page, and find something new to see and talk about.

So what more can I say? I LOVE THIS BOOK! Mark Ludy is a gifted artist, and has brought the great story of God's love through Noah and the Ark to the pages of a really great book. I encourage you to get a copy of Mark Ludy's book, Noah, A Wordless Picture Book, and share it with your kids.
