Welcome back for day two, of the 8 day challenge. Our goal, deeper intimacy with God and your spouse. We hope day one was exciting for you.

Yesterday we saw God as the creator of all things. With a word he spoke the world into existence. The creation account is more than just a story of how the Earth was made, it's the beginning of our story. Yes, God's story of love began in Genesis 1 and continues with you today. As we continue in this journey to deeper intimacy with our Creator and our spouse, we want to take a look at God's provision for man and woman; marriage. Marriage is a covenant; an eternal promise made before God and each other to love, serve, and care for one another. As you make your way through today's readings, take special notice of God's work in the man and the woman and how they become one flesh.

Marriage is a covenant; an eternal promise made before God and each other to love, serve, and care for one another.

Question 1.
- Genesis 2 shares the intimate relationship that God creates with the man; He forms the man from the dirt of the earth and breathes life into his nostrils. In the Garden the man communions with the Creator in perfect harmony and obedience. What does your relationship with the Creator look like right now? Are you close to him?

Question 2.
- When God looked at the man He saw that the man needed something more; he needed a helper. God created the woman to come along side the man to be his suitable helper, a partner in life and love. Together they equally supported each other in a special union that God Himself ordained. With your spouse talk about some ways that you serve as each other as God's suitable helper.

Question 3.
- In our reading in Song of Solomon/Song of Songs, we hear more passionate words from our two lovers. Before ending your time together, share with your spouse a few passionate words of love.

A Prayer for Both of You

Heavenly Father, You in Your great wisdom made for us suitable helpers to share in life and love. You bound us together in the covenant of marriage. And You have given to us a relationship unlike any other relationship on Earth. God as we chase after You, seeking a deeper intimacy with You, would You renew in our hearts the promise we once made to each other before you. And may we again experience the wonderful relationship as husband and wife. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Remember, you can add to this prayer time by praying for the needs and asks that you have for your relationship and family.

Now Go and Be Together

Day Two takes us to the place where marriage begins. There in the Garden, God created the man and the woman and united them in an unbreakable bond to enjoy the gift of marriage and love. As you take time to be with your spouse, remember that what you share is a gift from God for you to cherish and enjoy!
