Day Six's Scripture Readings
Reading One: James 1:1-8
Not what you might think of when you think about scripture for husbands and wives, but hear us out. Marriage is filled with challenges, struggles, difficult decisions, and moments of feeling like you're not prepared for what you have to deal with. James offers us the reminder that these challenging moments are the times God uses to grow us and make us more complete. Then James encourages us to seek God in the challenging moments asking Him to show up and provide. Reading Two: Song of Solomon/Song of Songs 6
Discussion Questions
Question 1:
- Think of a time in your marriage when you and your spouse had to face a difficult challenge or struggle. Take a few minutes to remember how you felt and what you though during that time. How did you see God moving through that season? Question 2: - What is something that you and your spouse are missing in your marriage? Is it communication? Is it honesty? Is it trust? Maybe it's wisdom to help you make an important decision. Make a list of items that you would like to bring before God in prayer. Question 3: - How can you support each other, especially during your next challenge? Make a list of ways you can support one another in the future. A Prayer for Both of You
Gracious Father, You call us to come to you asking for wisdom in the times of difficulty and challenge. As we seek to grow closer to you and to each other, give us your wisdom that we might choose to seek you in the midst of trials. Remind us that we are a team, working together as we live out our faith. Strengthen our marriage, our relationship with each other, and our relationship with you. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
Remember, you can add to this prayer time by praying for the needs and asks that you have for your relationship and family. Now Go And Be Together
As you read through Song of Solomon, chapter 6 teases the senses with the content of its verses. It describes the woman and her lover exploring each other in a very sensual way. Your relationship with your spouse is one that allows for the opportunity to explore one another, enjoying each other. Just remember to be sensitive to each other. Make sure you are both comfortable with the exploration.
Have fun as you go and explore your spouse.
