Welcome to day eight! Day eight , friends! You made it, eight days of time with your spouse! Eight days of read God's word together! Eight days of discussion and conversation! Eight days of praying together. And, eight days of one-on-one time!

We certainly hope that these last seven days have been helpful and fun! When we completed our eight day challenge, we definitely experienced a deeper intimacy with each other and in our relationship with God.

It wasn't easy, but we did it, and now so have you! By completing day eight, you join a select grouping of couples who determined to work hard at strengthening their marriages. Marriage isn't always easy. It does take work. And, setting aside time as a couple can be incredibly challenging, but here you are.

Let's get to today's readings, discussion questions, time of prayer, and of course some one-on-one time with your spouse!

Day Eight's Scripture Readings

Today's Reading: Song of Solomon/Song of Songs 8
With today's reading we are going to focus only on Song of Solomon's 8th chapter. Chapter 8 is the turning point of our couple. Chapters 1 through 7 have been all about the yearning and desire that each have for the other. Chapter 8 is the coming together, the wedding and consummation of this intimate and passionate relationship.

Wives, read verses...
Verses 1 - 4
Verses 5b - 7
Verses 10 - 12
Verse 14

Husbands, read verses...
Verse 5a
Verses 8 - 9
Verse 13

Discussion Questions

Question 1:
- Remember back to your wedding day. Do you remember how you felt, what you were thinking? Take a few minutes to relive how you felt just before the service, during the service, and afterwards. Talk about how you were feeling and what you were thinking.

Question 2:
- How about your wedding night? What were you feeling? What were you thinking? Share how you felt and what you were thinking before, during and after.

Question 3:
- Marriage is an adventure. Like most explorers who set out on a new adventure, there are all sorts of new discoveries made along the way. What have been some of the big discoveries that you have made over the years? Sure some of what you have learned along the way.

A Prayer for Both of You

Almighty God, thank you for the incredible gift of marriage. Thank you for this person you have put into my life; to love me and share this life with me. Thank you for the gift of intimacy and the expression of love through sex. Thank you for these last couple of days and the opportunity to focus on our marriage and our relationship with each other, and our relationship with you. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
Remember, you can add to this prayer time by praying for the needs and asks that you have for your relationship and family.

Now Go and Be Together

Day eight. What an accomplishment! As you take some time to be together, think back to those early years in your marriage. Think back to that first night as husband and wife. Remember the fun of exploring, learning, and discovering what each other enjoys. Remember the passion, anticipation, and excitement of those early years. Tonight, relive those feelings and allow that passion to reignite your desire for one another. Go and be together!
