Family Fun - The Philadelphia Zoo w/ the PA Cousins
05/19/2015
One of the most favorite places to visit for the Higham's is the Philadelphia Zoo. The first zoo in the country, we have made countless trips to see the animals, updated exhibits, and to enjoy time as a family. The zoo has changed considerably over the years, but it continues to be a great place to visit.
One of the things we hope to do with the family blog is to share great, family-friendly places to visit. Well, the Philadelphia Zoo is such a place. It is an absolute must if you and your family plan to visit the great city of brotherly love. Located in its original location at 3400 W. Girard Ave, it's a fairly easy ride from all points of the city. I will tell you, there are areas of construction and congestion as the city continues in its upgrades. But upgrades aside, the zoo is a timeless treasure.
We spent the better part of Saturday, cruising around the zoo, taking in the animals and exhibits. For the cousins, it was the a day to just hang out and have fun. A Higham first, all 7 of us, along with the 3 cousins, climbed aboard a massive hot air balloon for a 400 foot view of the zoo and the city. Although it was a bit hazy, the view was still incredible. I do wish I would have taken a few more photos, but it's hard to not be obnoxious when whipping the camera out every couple of seconds. But we did get a few pics which we are sharing below.
If you would like information about your future visit to the Philadelphia Zoo, click on the link provided. You will be taken directly to the zoo's website, which is a great resource! And while you're at it, download the zoos app. It's another great resource in helping you plan for your next visit!
